Owner Surrender and Rehoming

Making the decision to give up your pet can be a difficult choice. Dogs are usually displaced after major life events or because of challenging behavioral issues. Toby and his friends want to make the process easier for you and your dog. After an initial evaluation of your dog, we will determine if your dog qualifies for our rehoming process.

If you are looking to surrender/re-home your dog to Toby’s Rescue

1. Fill out the Rehoming Application and we will reach out to schedule a call and home visit for further assessment.

2. During the home visit, we will also discuss whether it is better to place your dog in an experienced foster home for continued evaluation or whether you keep the pup while we look for a new home.

3. Once we have determined that your dog is eligible for our rehoming service, we ask for a $150 rehoming service fee via PayPal to toby@tobysrescue.com and for a signed Owner Release Contract to transfer ownership.

Rehoming can be a challenging experience for your dog and for you. We try our best to make this process as pleasant as possible. Once your dog is in our care, we strive to find a home that works with their unique temperament and needs.
