Daisy is the sweetest little thing. Her favorite place is your lap but if you are ready for a walk, she enjoys exploring the ‘hood. She is a tiny 11 lbs and is all dainty long legs! We think she is about 5-year-old. She enjoys the company of other dogs but is just as happy just being with her human. She settles for the night without a fuss and is just the sweetest thing. Potty trained, sweet and gentle, she is ready for her furever home! See her playing and getting a bath!

Evonie and her sibling (Honey) have put a request in to start a new life in the DMV. Lab and Chihuahua mix, (how, we don’t know) we just think she is the cutest thing. We are completing their vetting, looking for flight angels and hope they will be winging their way to us at the end of January.

Adorable bonded Chihuahuas, Torro and Pernil will be arriving soon. These sweet boys are looking for a home together, as that’s all they have ever known. As a bonus, they have lived with cats and other dogs and are very social and friendly with everyone! Torro weighs in at 10 pounds and is more courageous and outgoing; Pernil, at 12 pounds, is the follower! They have completed their vetting and are waiting for their flight angel to escort them stateside later in January. Max Eli was granted his wish for 2025 and will be winging his way to us in late January. This sweet little boy is good with cats and dogs, affectionate and playful. His rescue mom in Puerto Rico says he is a very good boy. he is ready to find his forever home once he arrives stateside.

This cute fella got added to our travel list along with his his brother, Arturo! They are both about 30 lbs. and two years old. Rescued on NYE when they were dumped in front of the only Sanctuary in Puerto Rico, we said “yes” to giving them a fresh beginning. They are both very happy, fun and social. They will have completed their vetting by the end of January and will wing their way to us then. Stay tuned for more information about their personalities when they land!

Meet Pearl! She was a breeder dog in a puppy mill. Poor Pearl was sold to someone who didn't realize how unsocialized she was. They were able to get her vetted but then decided that they didn't have the skills to work with her. Sweet Pearl is great with all dogs, and probably would be fine with cats. She is not housetrained yet and very skittish with people. Pearl is not a biter, but will run away from you if you are within a few feet from her, so she needs time to get to know you! She is still learning how to walk on leash and use steps, as she has never experienced any of those things. Pearl’s perfect home would be a quiet, low key environment with no children, only because she is skittish around loud noises or quick movements. She would do best in a single family home with a fenced yard, and ultimately, a confident doggie companion to show her the ropes! Pearl does not have a mean bone in her body, but she needs someone experienced with a rescue dog who will take the time to work with her. Generally not a barker, she will howl if left in a crate or x-pen and she wants out. Pearl is a sweetie, and will be worth the effort for someone willing to be patient with her.

Sweet little Suzy Q was found after being hit by a car. She had a fractured pelvis and has been on bed rest for the last month. She is making great progress and is a happy and sweet girl soon ready to find her forever home. Check her out enjoying life in her foster home.

Dallas, Dallas sweet Dallas. He was brought into BARCS by a good samaritan when they saw him being attacked by two big dogs. He is a happy, easy going pup and when Gayle and her family saw him at the local dog park, they knew he was the perfect fit for their family. He joins Gayle and her extended family and has already become besties with the two resident GSDs! Check him out before grooming and then after visiting the barbershop! Check him out.

This sweet boy is officially crate trained and has quickly picked up on the routine from his foster brothers who showed him the ropes. He does not tug on the leash and loves prancing on walks. He’s also learning to eat his kibble since he was accustomed to human food for a while (he eventually finishes his kibble but just takes his time).
